Initiating the KUKSA mug at Restaurant Saaga

The kuksa mug is one of the best known household articles of Lapland, and a true multi-purpose utensil. The popularity of the kuksa is based on its handiness, light weight, and durability. The people of Lapland think that a drink from a china cup or coffee mug does not taste as good around a campfire as one from your own kuksa mug. There are many deeply rooted beliefs about the kuksa in Lappish traditions.

At the Saaga Restaurant you can initiate your own kuksa mug. During the programme you will hear stories about Lapland, the history of the kuksa mug and how to use it.  Initiating of the Kuksa Mug is a theme package fitting nicely between the dinner courses for parties large and small. An own Kuksa Mug is a pleasant memory of the Lappish dinner.

Duration of the programme is about 15-30 minutes depending of the group size. Recommended group size 8-50 persons.
Programme language is English – the diploma for initiating the kuksa is available also in Swedish and in German.
